My Apartment

Well, here is a little page dedicated to my apartment. After I moved in here I decided to actually put in some time and money into it. I guess I’m the kind of person who like to live in a place which actually looks and feels like a real home (and believe me, during my 1,5 years in Klamath Falls, OR, NOTHING felt like a home). I also wanted my apartment to have a Scandinavian style over it. So I bought all my furniture, except my sofa, at IKEA or DANIA.

It is still not complete finished. But it costs a lot to get the right furniture, so I kind of have to do a little at a time. But check back in a few months and if (don’t count on it) I have updated the page you’ll see the finished result.

Living Room

I decided to go for a light colored wood style in my living room. The table is kind of a normal or regular sight in any Scandinavian country (I think…..). The chair is a Pöeng chair from IKEA. It’s actually a very nice and comfortable chair. Probably doesn’t beat an Ekorness Stressless, but for the price it costs, its very nice. And it fits perfect in to the living room.

The sofa is the only non-Scandinavian furniture I have. I got it from a local Oak shop and if I’m not mistaking, it’s made in Eugene. So it’s my little Oregon contribution

On the other side of the living room I have my little entertainment center. The only bad thing about the floor plans in the apartments in my community would be that there is no room for a “full-size” entertainment center. So what I basically did was to buy a small wood style TV stand from Dania.

Over my fireplace I have my Picasso thingy. That has kind of a funny story behind it. I was walking around in IKEA with two female friends. And I wanted some huge art thing over the fireplace. And when I saw this picture I kind of liked it and picked it up. My two friends (who had kind of some art interest) were very impressed (I had no idea why). But at the counter line when we were waiting to pay, I looked at the picture and saw the name Picasso. Well, I really SUCK in art stuff, but I heard about that name, so I showed it to the girls. And they looked at me and were so disappointed. They thought I picked it since it was Picasso, while the only reason I took it was because it thought it would fit in. Oh well, next time they know that I have no clue about anything when it comes to art.

Dining Room

In the dining room I decided to go for glass/aluminum style, a little contrast to the “wooden” living room. Everything here was also bought from IKEA. The mirrors in the background was not planned to be as it shows. I was planning to have 3x3 mirrors on the wall, but I only bought 8 mirrors so I decided to with this style.

PS. The flowers were Krissy’ strange idea……..

Bed Room

Not much to say here. Got the bed from Dania and its kind of a nice one, right? To bad good mattresses are so damn expensive. This room needs a whole lot of redecorating!!!!
